Endings and beginnings…

As 2011 draws to a close and we busy ourselves with final preparations for the Holiday season, we also take time to reflect on the year just ending and the New Year about to begin.

In the StrathamWood Studios we are in the midst of some major changes as well, all very positive and very exciting. Beginning with the first of the year, StrathamWood Studios will be a full time endeavor as I have just retired from my former career.  What this means to my clients is that you will be able to obtain my work in a number of new ways. I will be displaying my work in a number of galleries (details will be posted as they become available) and you will also be able to purchase selected items directly from the website.  I will also undertake more commissions than in the past and I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how we can turn your vision into an heirloom to be treasured by you and your family.

In my travels for work I sometimes have the opportunity to see a few of the local sights and sounds.  If I brought my camera with me I’ll snap a few photographs and once and a while I get lucky and capture an image that is memorable.  On this trip we had wondered off the main streets into a fishing village on the edge of the city of Jakarta, and I was snapping a few interesting pictures when I came around a corner and spotted this little boy.  The guitar is bigger than he is, and he had the most adorable expression.  This is one of my favorite pictures!Jakarta Music
