Took a short break from the shop to take in a Willie Nelson concert at Foxwoods Casino in Ct.
Saturday started out with a morning get together with a couple of fellow Guild members to talk about carving and the Townsend Document Box project we are working on. We watched a couple of Newport shell carving videos by Mary May. Then I was headed off to Foxwoods to see the legend perform.
Willie is 78 years old and yet from the moment he curtain went up until the end of the concert he never stopped. No breaks…his singing is still great and his picking just amazing. Supported by an incredible piano player and a harmonica player who had the audience gasping at the sounds he could bring, the concert was a great way to spend an evening…especially knowing that NH and most of New England was in the grasp of an October snow storm. If you are wondering if Willie still has what it takes at 78…. Rest assured, he does!!
