Tables and Desks

Portsmouth Sideboard

Adapted from a classic Portsmouth, NH dressing table (ca 1805-15) this piece is often described as a sideboard today as it is equally at home in the dining room as the bedroom.

Constructed of mahogany with birch and maple inlays and bandings of holly, ebony and rosewood this piece absolutely glows.

Chocolate Demilune

Demilune table in walnut… The tapered legs feature holly stringing typical of the Federal period. The top of the desk is a sunburst pattern of highly figured walnut and the grain is continuous over the apron. A shell inlay in holly and ebony is a focal point of the top. A beaded edge of Gaboon ebony dresses the bottom edge of the apron.

Boardman Table

A reproduction of a ladies worktable made ca 1815 in Portsmouth, NH by Langley Boardman. This table is accurate in every detail and features a solid top of crotch mahogany and a drawer faced with Australian Sheoak and native NH birch. Birdseye maple is inlaid into the front faces of the leg and banding of holly and ebony accent the table.

Maple & Cherry Sofa Table

The table top is fashioned from native NH curly maple and features a sweeping curve on the front and ends. The turned legs and aprons are cherry and the aprons mimic the curve of the top while the legs have a gentle splay to them that grounds the table.

This media center, custom designed to the clients specifications, is fashioned from walnut.

Birdseye Sofa Table

This sofa table features a top and aprons fashioned from some of the most beautiful Birdseye maple that you will ever see. An abundance of “eyes” along with a curly figure give this wood a truly three dimensional feel. The top floats above the rails and legs, and the legs are tapered and sculpted.
